Description of work
My work expresses the image reconstructed by digital program using ink, paste, and paper technique in Korean paper. The work is divided into urban space, people, and nature. The work expressing the urban landscape reflects the dramatic image that is felt in the space of the rapidly changing city. I found anonymity and alienation of existence in the lives of people in urban space. As a result, I came to look at myself as I am craving nature from the tension and uneasiness of urban life. Thus, the sensory experience of the natural phenomenon was recalled in the work.
I try to change the form of 'digitalization of digital images' by combining the transformation of images through digital media and traditional engineering techniques. Digital media works reveal a clear image of cities, people, and nature through light, shadows, lines and margins. The light, shadows, lightness and darkness of the city are expressed in the contrast of dark ink and blank space. In addition, we cut out the Korean paper and reconstruct it with a line to try to expand the space of the work by moving away from the plane thinking of Oriental painting.
